A Problem Solving Approach to Teaching Middle School Mathematics with Dr. Yeap Ban Har
November 8, 2019
$315.00
Overview:
Problem-solving plays a critical role in the education of all K-12 mathematics students. However, knowing how to incorporate problem-solving into a curriculum and daily instruction remains challenging for many teachers. Participants in this 1-day workshop will learn to make problem-solving and critical thinking part of their everyday teaching through the use of problem-based anchor tasks and meaningful discourse. They will learn to differentiate problems and tasks to meet the needs of their increasingly diverse classrooms. Mathematical content will be based on the 6-8 Common Core State Standards and will include fractions, integers, algebra, and geometry.
